Dental
Services:
The
dental services offered at our medical clinics are extractions.
Many of people we serve have teeth so decayed
restoration is not an option.

We
provide all the supplies and anesthetic for the trips.
We pack and inventory all supplies, handle the
government paperwork and work with customs.
The only item dentists who travel with us need
to bring is any favorite dental instruments they have
that we do not.
We
need a minimum of two dentists for each of our trips.
When
money permits we want to purchase some portable dental
units to enable us to do restorations and sealants when
appropriate. |
Children's
Bible Classes:
During
the medical clinic a Bible class is provided for the
children who are waiting in line to receive medical
care. The classes are 45 minutes long and we teach
about 30 children at a time.

The
children hear Bible stories, sing, pray and color.
We also give the children sun visors and glasses made
out of colorful laminated paper with a sticker attached
to the side earpiece stating "Keep your eyes on
Jesus". During

Eye
Glasses:
Everywhere
we go the line of people waiting for eyeglasses is always
the longest.
We
offer prescription and reading glasses. We put
the prescription glasses together on site. First
we test their vision using an instrument called a focometer.
The focometer does not require electricity to work making
it ideal for trips to remote areas of third world countries.
After testing their vision we are able to put glasses
together to fit their exact prescription assuming of
course we have the correct lenses. All of the
frames are just alike so all lenses fit all frames.
Eye
glasses is one of the areas that non-medical volunteers
can be trained to work.
